My classmate's second cousin twice removed has a severe anxiety problem and a doctor who refuses to prescribe him benzodiazepines, so he recently ordered some 2mg Xanax pills from a company in China. To his surprise, they were white and oval-shaped, with "Xanax 2.0" on the front, scored three ways on the back instead of four. Though he knew they were counterfeit, in the interest of science, he decided to take one, and it helped his anxiety. Further research suggests they are not placebo and definitely contain some kind of downer, as they erase his memory, and if he takes too many, he slurs his words. They seem to last about as long as legitimate alprazolam. Does anyone else know someone who has encountered these pills, and has anyone run a lab test on them?

It could be any number of substances... there are hundreds of generics manufactures that have the ability to produce benzodiazepines.... there's really just no way of telling.

Fair enough. I guess the important thing for my classmate's second cousin twice removed is that they work, as he could have just as easily been sold rat poison with the word "Xanax" on it.
