to make black tar heroin, opium is usually refluxed with acetic
anhydride. acetic anhydide smells a lot like vinegar.. in fact, acetic
anhydride combined with water makes acetic acid, which is in vinegar.

Thats interesting. Does anybody know if it's possible to extract the acetic anhydride from vinegar? From what I hear, it's difficult to obtain it.

well, SWIM guesses if you set up a condensor to collect the water
(anhydride = no water) you could form it by heating it up to ~300'C on
a hotplate. SWIM's not sure if that would work though, just speculation.

Does anybody else know if this will actually work? You see, swim's friends' distant cousins' younger brothers' friends' dad has recently came across a QP (4oz) of fresh, untreated Opium tar and is willing to hook up swim for reliable info to make it as potent as possible. Since I am a very close friend of mine, I would really like to find out for him. Edited by: jrock0069
