Many years ago a blind forum friend of mine send me her experiences with psilocybe mushrooms. In several trips she experienced something extrordinary. This is one of her trips.

I've got a similar story.. kind of...

I've got a colorblind friend who ate some psilocybe mushrooms. He told me that normally he confused green with blue and many other colors. Whilst under the influence, he told me that he was able to differentiate between the two (and other colors he had trouble with) alot more easily and saw alot of weird colors he wasn't use to.

SHIT! SWIM cried the hell out of him. The lady´s testimony is worth all the bullshit I have ever read in the forum, and more. SWIM´s shocked.

Now this is a reason why the goverment should look into the medical, and spiritual usings of mushrooms.

    Her story was very moving.

I had been asking myself the other day of the blind would experience visuals. A very moving story.

"Government" and "spiritual" in the same sentence?? Haha! No chance, matey.

A bunch of suits with no knowledge of most of the substances they've banned won't care a bugger for "spiritual" use. As far as Blair and Co are concerned "spiritual" is something that those 'naughty drug addicts' practice while 'high' on smack.

It pains me how people are kept from such things by the reductionistic suits that run this world, then conditioned to believe its evil and will "fuck you up".

Legal use of psychedelics is unlikely to happen in my lifetime as the populous ahve been conditioned against it from a young age and would much rather indulge in tabacco and alcohol.

This article makes me feel good about further experimentation with substance, psilocybe included. This further proves SWIM's ideas of substances being beneficial (when used properally) to the mind and soul.... Beautiful experience, I am touched to of read it.

Great article, very touching and it just proves that there is more to magic mushrooms than meets the eye (no pun intended)

I havent read anything this good , in forever. Probably the best reason to expand the current methods of treating depression and anxiety. How do we present the argument to the medical profession? I would have to believe that the higher ups know of this as a viable form of relief , but arent about to endorse it for fear of ridicule. The methods currently subscribed to by the medical profession are upheld or are programmed by the big drug companies, they arent about to develop and recommend a medicine that a person could grow in their own homes. That could be why Medical Marijuana isnt widely endorsed. its a type of homeopathic medicine.

Re: What happens if a blind person...

I was discussing this with my friend a long time ago actually. I have considered putting on a blindfold or perhaps earplugs and seeing how that goes. (Making the other senses heightened?)

That would probably make the visuals stronger, since there's no longer any real world to interfere with them. It'd be like a much more intense hypnagogic state.

This is what I was thinking. It'd be nice to get a sensory depravation tank with some sweet ass sound system hooked up in it.

    Tripping blind

What would a blind guy experience when he's on shrooms (assuming he has never been able to see)? Would he also have hallucinations? Maybe someone read about it?

If u know the answer reply! :)

    Re: Tripping blind

Well hallucinogens produce both Open Eye Visuals, & Closed Eye Visuals...So yes, theoretically (I say this because he is not blind) a blind person will most definately experience hallucinations.

Also a hallucination doesnt necessarily have to involve vision, it could be a hallucination of touch, smell, taste, or physical feelings of balance distortion.

    Very interesting question though.

But how could a blind man visualize something? Visualizing is thinking about something you have already seen or you form a picture with mixes of different memories...
And maybe you can test on blind people if an OBE is real and no halluciantion. Your soul can't be blind :D
