This journal will be my record for finding/creating a strategy regarding a goal I have: getting off heroin... and either back on methadone or off of opiates entirely.
Also, I'm hoping other people will be here reading what I write. Comments of experiences from other users that I can use to learn from or advice I can take. That kind of stuff is invaluable.
A doctor might know a thousand times more than me on the science of it, but having a real life experience as an addict and giving me advice with my well-being in mind, it can go really far in regards to changing my mind about something. I've had more than my fair share of professionals talk down to me, even abuse me while I was in hospital, because I'm an addict and there's nothing I can do about it.
I want to share my experience and maybe vent some of the anger that's been cooking up inside me.
I need to be off dope by next April, so we have a timeline. I'll share what my withdrawals are going to be like, how long they last, what I've learned and what I have yet to try to get out of this prison of a drug.
They say journaling is good for you so... here I am ..Let's do it.
