My cat used to take MDMA and have a very pleasant, sleepy comedown, chilling with mates, drinking a nice cuppa and discussing the night we'd had - it was half of the experience. Upon recently switching to mephedrone due to the lack of MDMA in her region she's been having some great nights out, be it not as good as on MDMA (she finds the mephedrone too speedy and it makes her chat too much rubbish). However, her main issue is that when the mephedrone wears off, which happens very instantly, rather than a gradual comedown (normally after around 1.5 hours, depending on the dose), if she does not redose she becomes extremely grumpy, annoyed that she's no longer high and can't really be bothered to talk to anyone. This is not typical of the cats personality and prevents her really enjoying the post-night chillout, watching the sun come up, smoking a joint and just relaxing. Does anyone else experience this unavoidable moodiness after mephedrone has worn off?
I get this exact feeling every time it wears off. I find it feels as though someone has just flicked the happy switch off in his brain and sent him flying into a state of reality which results in depression. Swim even reckons this feeling is the reason that he does not take the stuff as often as he would (along with the negative side affects of course) . It is a truely horrible feeling to swim but a good old sleep is all that is needed for him to rid his head of this horrible realisation feeling.
Yeah my cat believes it will be the downfall of her mephedrone use as it seems to be worse each time also - not so much depression though, just very grumpy and unsociable. But the description of turning the happy switch off is spot on. Does methylone have such a significant after-grumpyness or is it warmer and more sleepy like MDMA?
Mephedrones psycological effects are vast, unknown and serious (speculative based on personal experience). I have experienced mephedrone grumps - particularly with his girlfriend - who he tends to take them out on. Mood swings are short temper seem to be the tip of the iceberg.
I have experienced this too. If I get to the point where she feels moody, withdrawn and unsociable even another line doesn't seem help matters. SWIM makes sure that she keeps redosing so it doesn't wear off. When it eventually does, SWIM usually goes home as she feels too paranoid to stay around with people.
This is the standard stimulant comedown - it's part of the package deal of using these compounds. If you don't like it, don't use mephedrone, or decrease your dosage to a point where it no longer bothers you. This is the equivalent of a hangover from alcohol.
My cat appreciates there'll be a comedown from any stimulant but doesn't feel half as grumpy after coke, MDMA, speed, cup of coffee . On the contrary, as stated in my initial post, my cat used to enjoy the comedown after MDMA - feeling a bit sleepy but content. It's not an unbearable grumpyness and my cat doesn't get paranoid or anything, but it is an unsociable grumpyness my cat hasn't experienced after any other substance that makes the comedown less fun. Also, strangely, dosage seems to make no difference. :s My cat did a very small line of mephedrone recently, probably less than 0.1g, at a friends after a night out drinking. When it wore off about an hour later the level of grumpyness was comparable to that of coming down after a night out taking over 0.5g and i couldn't be bothered to talk to people again. My cat thinks this is the heart of the scarily hard-to-control re-dosing for her. With say MDMA, once it had worn off she felt content, even if there was an hour left in the club, with mephedrone she couldn't be bothered to dance or talk to anyone in the same situation.
"I find it feels as though someone has just flicked the happy switch off in his brain and sent him flying into a state of reality which results in depression." I think this is the perfect description haha, he finds he can make this alot more easier to handle by placing himself in his "safety circle" - sat with freinds in a comfortable colourful vibrant warm environment with a tv (so he dosent feel the need to socialise, he finds it alot worse to either try and sleep it out, or be on his own!), often swim and his companions gaze at the tv not even taking in whatever is playing. he has often chosen the ketamine path, which enables him to switch gears in his head, and more recently had access to benzos, which are probably the most efficent!
this thread describes exactly how my dog feels. once the comedown begins, esp after a long binge, my dog doesnt really like to be bothered and gets annoyed/grumpy quite easily. while he hasnt ever taken benzos (he read they were bad to combine with meph on another thread he thinks) mind numbing tv or a few movies is always a good solution.
I find this common to most stims excluding good X which gives him a happy afterglo for a few days usually. I think that its good practice for training ones temper and learning to rationalize and control ones anger. some good herb and good friends help, just stay cool and be zen.
try administering orally! I have 3 hrs peak with 250mgs meph. and the comedown is very gentle. Swim never liked sorting meph! Well the day after the roll, swim wont feel happy like normal but thats due to the dopamine/serotonin flush/recovery which swim accepts. About recovery: the best session I has found is to eat somthing healty abt 2 hrs before the roll. drug taken orally and drink plenty of water during the roll. after the roll drink a glass of milk. it is very hard to eat after a meph session but beleive SWIM, eating something will speed up the recovery.
My cat agrees that eating afterwards, though hard, definitely speeds up the recovery. However, as a rule she doesn't eat for about 6 hours before dropping anything as, although she's never been sick, it can give her very bad stomach cramps if she does - this is almost a certain for mephedrone for some reason. :s Trying to chill afterwards with stabbing stomach pains isn't easy.
the best thing after a mephedrone binge, or even just a mild comedown from a minor indulgence is access to a nice supply of weed to calm the nerves, a couple of benzos if You has them and some comfort food like chocolate and anything sugary really. oh and season 2 of I'm Alan Partridge seemed to go absolutely hand in hand with the combo, I hasn't laughed so unconsciously in a long time!
My dog understands this and feels the same way, but my dog thinks some light exercise ie some push ups or star jumps along with a sweet drink sorts this out. the endorphins definately take the edge off. failing that stock up on ur benzo's!!!
The gecko that lives just outside my door has reported being on the edge when drone wears off and it looks as if he finds the best medicine for this is to stay away from others when this is going on and not to interact much. Because this gecko has snapped on people right when coming off this drone. This is not good for said gecko as he has been told over the years about his temper before drone came along. So the gecko outside now knows to smoke a lot of cannabis when coming off the drone or any other stim for that matter as this has always mellowed him before and kept him out of trouble. The gecko reports feeling invincible and ready to smash someone if they f*ck with his buzz when on the drone and improved alertness but the drone makes him way to friendly to initiate. Said gecko often wonders if he is even more of a threat on the drone than he already is if someone messed up his drone buzz or would the slight empathy and sociability of the drone keep said gecko in check from attacking the threat and giving it a beat down. So has anyone had a first hand experience whether or not the drone improved their reflexes or mental state in a fight because the said gecko has not been in a fight while on the drone yet?
swim cannot understand how anyone would get in a fight on mephedrone. he has seen friends started on and put in positions where a fight would usually break out, but the drug just seems to sort things out in its empathetic way, "mate, why would i wanna fight you? i love you! here take some mephedrone..."
The gecko tells me that he never feels as though he wants to instigate any fights while on the drone much to the contrary and is so damn friendly on this drone even to complete strangers. Said gecko has experienced extreme agitation, temper, and general grumpy attitude towards others coming off drone. However, said gecko also mentions the invincible feeling that is achieved during the peak and wondered if the stimulant component on the come down after the empathetic component has worn off accompanied by agitation or a general grumpy feeling that an argument leading to a fight might have occurred before at least once while someone was still under residual effects of the drone. Better yet said gecko is still even more curious as to what this invincible peak feeling could add to a fight. Or perhaps someone might find themselves in self defense mode being attacked by a drunk while on the drone at their peak and performed on a higher level due to the invincible feeling and alert stimulant effect or would they find it impossible to fight while under its influence due to overwhelming :vibes: empathy?
My pet bird says he really enjoys the onset of mephedrone but the come down is very psychologically worrisome. The residual effects seem to stay in his system for a really long time (up to 3 days even)- with trouble sleeping, trouble concentrating or forming coherent thoughts, cravings, auditory hallucinations and slight visual hallucinations (while tying to fall asleep), not to mention extreme depression. I think the long lasting hallucinations are a very bad sign, but this may only apply to SWIM's pet bird.
agree, once you run out and everything wears off, it makes you very grumpy and just want more, I dont get that on any other drugs like mdma or speed i just have fun coming down with my mates or just chill at home on the computer or listen to music.
I am usually a a very chilled out guy, but after taking meph less than 4 days ago, SWIM becomes seriously annoyed and angry at minuscule things. It might not even be the meph but my never been like this.
