Analgesics are a class of drugs which are primarily used for the relief of pain. They can range from opiates, opiods, nonsteriodal anti-imflamatory drugs (NSAID), steroids and some even more esoteric pain relievers. two of the earliest analgesics are acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) derived from willow bark, and opium from the resin of the poppy plant.
