    How can you help?

Simply read through and add information, find resources that backup (or disprove) information, search the site for good threads and posts and correct my lousy grammer. Suggestions welcomed.

    INTRODUCTION

This is a work in progress. Some parts need expanding and some need references and rewording for grammar.
Please note this is a collection of work and information gathered from posts on drugs-forum. None of this information is presented as fact; it is merely here to answer common questions by linking information already available on this site.

    WARNINGS AND MISCONCEPTIONS

    • Mephedrone is a highly addictive compound and many users find it difficult to control dose even after taking a small amount. - #####
    • Products that are labelled as "PLANT FOOD" or "PLANT FEEDER" or "PLANT FERTILIZER" are not always mephedrone. This is a legal loophole so that shops can sell research chemicals.
    • Always test new batches before use - this means taking a tiny dose (around 1-5mg). If a batch is contaminated or has been cut this is the safest way (besides lab testing) to experiment.
A - Routes of administration for mephedrone
    A1 - Orally (Pills, bombs)

    • Taking a fixed amount orally can help limit the urge to redose and prevent excess use.
    • Oral doses can be taken in a variety of ways; the easiest being either mixed with water, or wrapped in a rizzla and swallowed.
    • First time doses should range between 100mg and 150mg and you should try not to eat for a few hours beforehand as this can dampen the effects.
    • "250mg is a good oral dose, but the tail end effects will last a lot longer and sleep will be difficult." - #####
    • A dose of 150mg-250mg is the average, this gives a duration of around 2 hours. - #####
    • Oral doses last longer but also take longer to get started; it is important not to redose early even if you feel it has not affected you. Using a gel capsule can take upto 45 minutes to start.
    • Side-effects from oral doages can be nausea, stomach cramps and vomiting (especially in larger 250mg+ dosages).
A2- Insufflation (Snorting, sniffing) - How does it work?

    • Snorting mephedrone can dramatically increase the urge to redose, it is important to set out a maximum amount for the night and stick to it.
    • Many people think snorting is a bad idea with something than is active when taken orally, mainly due to nose damage.
    • Crushing/chopping the powder as fine as possible and placing a straw well inside the nostril can greatly increase the effects.
    • First time doses should range between 25-75mg and can take upto 15mins to start working.
    • Side-effects from snorting seem to be worse when compaired to taking the same total dose orally - its "harsh" on the body.
    • Do not share straws/notes with other people as you can increase the risk of infection (even Hep. C in rare cases
    A3 - Rectal (Plugging)

    • Rectal doses are roughly 3 times the strength of oral dosages and the duration half way between oral and nasal. - #####
B - Purity, how can I tell if I really have mephedrone?
B1 - My product says 99.99% pure is it true? - Main article

    • Because the product you are buying is not intended for human consumption - technically the manufacter can write whatever percentage they feel like. - #####
    • Just because its 99.9% pure does not mean its safe. If the remaining 0.1% is a potent poison you could still die. - #####
    • If you buy a new batch test it out first with tiny dosages to reduce the risks. If you don't get a buzz or a "normal" response from it STOP! - #####
B2 - How can I find out what I have bought?

C - How to avoid adverse side-effects and tolerance - Main article
    C1 - Reducing the side-effects

    • Drink plenty of water as mephedrone can suppress your natural thirst. Remeber to sip water often as this is the best way to rehydrate, (drinking an isotonic drink if you haven't eaten in over 12 hours will also help)
    • Avoid alcohol and other things that cause dehydration as these effects can stack.
    • Oral dosing is preferable as it seems to reduce cravings (redosing) as well as the prevalence of side-effects.
    • Eat well before a session or preferably during a session; when recovering occasionally take multi-vitamins and magnesium suplements to counter the draining effect of your body on overdrive.
    • Mephedrone can cause stimulant anxiety and panic attacks; see C3 for more extensive information and prevention.
    • Do not take more than 500mg in a session; mephedrone is highly addictive and most side-effects occur on larger dosages.
    • Avoid over-exertion from exercise and sex. While this can be a very enjoyable experience it can also be frustration as mephedrone makes it harder to orgasm. Continual exertion can also cause dehydration.
    D - Common side-effects
    D2 - Common side-effect threads (also general stimulant side-effects)

E - The real risk factors of taking mephedrone - TOXBASE Information
Editorial note: this is mainly speculative and theortical.
E1 - Heat retention and vasoconstriction

    • Mephedrone is a stimulant drug which forces the body into overdrive: increasing heart-rate, blood pressure and metabolism. One of the ways in which heat is lost from our bodies is via blood diffusing into our skin (in places such as our feet and hands). This increases the surface area in which blood is spread; allowing for more heat transfer (cooling). Vasoconstriction forces blood into the more vital areas of your body (this normally only happens when you are very cold) so as to retain heat for vital organs. If this happens when you are already producing excess heat (from the stimulant effects) then you are at risk from heat-stroke in extreme circumstances. Dehydration also plays a large role.
E2 - Blood pressure and vasoconstriction

    • Similarly to above the heart beating faster (from the stimulant effects of mephedrone) now has to push more blood around a smaller area (remebering the vasoconstriction of blood to the main body). This increases blood pressure (more blood in a smaller area being pumped faster) and puts you at risk of stroke and heart problems.
    E3 - Heart attack

    • Lactate can build up in the blood from dehydration which causes the heart into a tachcardic state. - #####
    • Lactate may also cause panic attacks which in turn can make the heart beat faster. -
    • The coronary arteries of the heart (these supply the heart muscle with its own oxygen) only refill when the muscle is in a relaxed state.
    • As your heart-rate rises the relaxed period of each beat is reduced (as the heart is beating faster and faster) and therefore the heart recieves less oxygen. - Needs expanding

    Re: The Mephedrone FAQ

excelent post! swim just thinks that it is not such a good idea to recommend energy drinks when on meph, cuz it could be very hard on the heart. Perhaps isotonic drink or somerhing like that could be better.

    Re: The Mephedrone FAQ

Good stuff from what I've heard/read. One suggestion I have to reduce risks is drink fluids before most folk should know that but its best if its these isotonic sports drinks or fruit juices just to keep the electrolyte balance correct. Athletes burn a lot of energy, increaesed heart rate/bp = sweat a lot.
Isotonic sports drinks keep the hydration more normal

    Re: The Mephedrone (2-Methylamino-1-p-tolylpropan-1-one) FAQ

    as im new to this,
I has found that the more time spent chopping to a very fine powder before snorting has really reduced the chance of nose burn/bleeds ,as he and she has never had that problem
I use a chopped down bic pen as a personal snorter, thinks it safer than sharing a note
also found that taking viagra 30 minutes into session to increase circulation has been very helpfull

    Re: The Mephedrone (2-Methylamino-1-p-tolylpropan-1-one) FAQ

this could be very dangerous advice. While the exact extent of the risks are not fully known, there is enough info to urge caution. Might want to see this thread: Mephedrone + Viagra (or Cialis) ? or do a search here- there is plenty of info on the matter...

thanks for that, think I will be a bit more cautious, but i will say I have taken 3 viagra over a 12hr period (on various sessions)while taking mephedrone and had no bad side effects, lots of great sex,but reading the thread u gave link to,I think risk of heart attack not worth the risk, time to investigate the combo more, again many thanks

No its not normal but similiar side effects have occurred. Some threads that might be of help:

    Mephedrone Experiences & Side-Effects Database

    Mephedrone hospitalization: Purple knees, extremities

Mephedrone: body turned blue with red and purple, limbs numb.

red blotchy face after using mephedrone

Also, if you could get pictures of the effect it would be much appreciated, along with relevant info on the session and history of use.

maybe some pitures later but the dose was prob 350-400mg's it was a new batch so he think that could be it or the fact that he never went to sleep to heal. But it is still there but nothing purple and everything is startnig to diminish so hopefully soon. nothing really hapend with knees but feet handds and one elbow were really red for quite some time. he is am not down for this stuff so hes jst gonna go get rid of the rest.

    Re: The Mephedrone (2-Methylamino-1-p-tolylpropan-1-one) FAQ

I'm not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, and I don't really have all the time to browse the countless mephedrone threads to find an answer.. so can anyone tell me:

Would mephedrone inhibit one's ability to fall asleep? Say I took some at 5:00 pm, and wanted to sleep by 11:00. Would this be likely to be possible, or would SWIM be too wired?

^^ mephedrone is a stimulant, so it would likely affect ability to sleep. Of course dose would play a role...but not recommended.

    Re: The Mephedrone (2-Methylamino-1-p-tolylpropan-1-one) FAQ

In regards to bullet point 3 under section B2 I believe that mephedrone gives similar test results with reagant that other similar compounds do so it does not actually help at all to determine whether it is mephedrone or something counterfeited as mephedrone. Reagant also can't tell you purity. Only the identity of the product, tentatively.

i've known people to smoke mephedrone (bongs and buckets) for me it's absolutely revolting, horrible lasting taste - never again : )
    others have said it's good.
also it's a caustic substance, wouldn't want to smoke it more than infrequently if i was going to, must be bad for lungs

isotonic drinks are great whilst on it : )

usualy drop a little water into my nose after insufflation, i fear regular (and excessive) use often makes the inside of my nose nasty.

I've been 3 years on mkat , it has destroyed my life and family , I'm depressed , permanent running nose and bounce around emotions like a white girl in a hip hop club , but there are positives , one I know for sure , whenever on Kat I'm clothing shit up , I'm a heavey smoker but a recent chest extras at hospital and despite smoking 22 years now the doctor was stunned and said I had the lungs of someone smoking less than 2 , truth is everyone knows the government have tested it no findings have been released cuz nothing harmful was found , mentally IT defo needs investigation but in one respect its ok for smokers
