Microdosing

Microdosing is the practice of taking an amount of a drug that has no psychoactive effect whatsoever. Not to be mistaken with mini-dosing which is the practice of taking a small psychoactive dose. Microdosing is often done to get a long term effect over time. For example by microdosing psilocybe truffles or mushrooms.

What dose is a microdose?

Take the substance of your choice and use a scale to measure out 5% of a normal psychoactive dose. For psilocybe truffles this means 0.5 grams. As a general rule: if you are getting psychoactive effects from your dose, then lower the amount that you take.

How to microdose?

Various microdosing regimes exist. One regime is to microdose every two or three days. Positive effects should become apparent after 4 weeks. Some users prefer a break after 6-8 weeks.

What is a microdose stack?

Often various drugs are microdosed for the synergetic effects. For example the Stamets stack invented and patented by Paul Stamets. This is a combination of psilocybe mushrooms or truffles, Lion's mane extract and Niacin.
